i have a soft tummy and acne scars and my voice is not always low and sweet and my clothes are not always well-coordinated or even clean and my lipstick smears and my eyeliner runs and i still get overwhelmed and disappointed sometimes. but some nights i feel lovely and happy and as if, maybe, i’m getting the hang of this whole existence thing, and i’ve begun to realize i have time to get the hang of all this, and i don’t need to be perfect. i just need to be. 

I have a fit, but soft tummy and scars from breast cancer. My eyeliner runs too, my voice and ears have perfect pitch, but my earlobes have stretched from heavy earrings in the past. My time management always needs work and my marriage is always a work in progress. I’m overwhelmed and underwhelmed all at once. I want to be like the gorgeous kelp nourishing and flowing with the ocean in spite of the weight of its magnitude. My solace is creativity, my French bulldogs and the love in my life.
